The Fix

The way to properly gain weight and get stronger is really quite simple. It’s what has been preached by parents and teachers for years.

·       Rest is key. Getting seven to eight hours of sleep each night allows the body to recover and grow muscle.     

·       Breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day. Not only does it jump start metabolism, but those who don’t eat breakfast have bigger waists by almost two inches. (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition) Skip breakfast and your more likely to binge eat, which causes the body to store more fat.

·       A proper diet with the correct amount of daily servings, listed below, and avoiding excess sugars & fats.

  • Milk, yogurt, & cheese – 2 to 3 servings
  • Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, & eggs – 2 to 3 servings
  • Vegetables – 3-5 servings
  • Fruits – 2-4 servings
  • Bread, cereal, rice, & pasta – 6-11 servings
  • Fats, oils, & Sweets – Eat sparingly

·       Education on how to properly work out and eat is also a necessity. A “Magic Pill” doesn’t exist to magically put on muscle.
